Directory Administrator – LGBT NOLA Directory- LGBT COMMUNITY CENTER
The Directory Administrator is responsible for promoting, updating, and maintaining the LGBT NOLA Directory, currently located at lgbtccneworleans.org/beta. They will coordinate with the Board of Directors to develop the overall strategy for the LGBT NOLA Directory and report to the board a monthly financial update (new listings, at what price level, and overall revenue). They will also be responsible for implementing the digital marketing plan for the LGBT NOLA Directory.
Experience with WordPress content management system and basic web coding.
Experience communicating with LGBT organizations or businesses, and an understanding of sensitivities inherit in these populations.
Strong written communication skills in a digital format- blogging, newsletters, social media, etc.
Experience in project management.
Ability to work efficiently without a supervisor.
Ability to identify problems, comfortable taking initiative to propose and implement solutions.
Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to multi-task successfully.
Experience with GeoThemes WordPress plugin.
Community member and/or previous volunteers.
Previous experience with MailChimp newsletter service.
Ability to connect the Center to a larger network of resources.

The Directory Administrator is the overall coordinator of the LGBT NOLA Directory.
Primary Responsibilities are:
1) Coordinate with board members to develop overall strategy of LGBT NOLA Directory.
2) Recruit new resource and business listings for the LGBT NOLA Directory.
3) Represent LGBT NOLA Directory to wider New Orleans social justice community, and coordinate with wider community for collaborative events and promotions.
4) Responsible for reporting to board the overall finances of LGBT NOLA Directory (new listings each month, at what price level, overall revenue for each month).
5) Coordinate public presence, including media outreach and web presence.
6) Other tasks as assigned
The Directory Administrator reports to the Board of Directors through regular phone, email, and one-on-one communication, as well as through attendance as requested at monthly board meetings (second Wednesday of each month, 7:30pm @ Center). The Directory Administrator is evaluated by the board through a process jointly developed by the director and the Board.
This contract is for a six-month period, from June 1 of 2014 – November 30 of 2014, with the understanding that if this arrangement is working and funding is secured, the contract will be extended for a full year.
Your employment with the LGBT Center is a voluntary one and is subject to termination by you or the LGBT Center at will, with or without cause, and with or without notice, at any time. Nothing in these policies shall be interpreted to be in conflict with or to eliminate or modify in any way the employment-at-will status of LGBT Center employees.
Compensation is initially set at $800/month for the first six months.
